Behold the bapron!

I found this tutorial for a bapron (baby apron) at Craftiness is Not Optional and just had to make it!

It's a little longer than a bib and comes up higher on the neck.  I'm going to have Olivia's daycare test this one out and let me know what they think.  If they like them I may make a few to donate to them.  I used fabric from one of Olivia's receiving blankets for the backing of this!  I love incorporating things she has outgrown into new projects!

The stuffed giraffe Olivia's daycare teacher gave her for Valentine's day is our model tonight since Olivia is already in bed (and thank God for that - she protested sleep tonight!)

Good Morning Girls!

Starting today me and twenty-some May/June 2010 BabyFit mamas are launching a summer book club to read and discuss a scripture passage daily as well as reading The Ministry of Motherhood: Following Christ's Example in Reaching the Hearts of Our Children.  This summer book club is a branch of the Good Morning Girls.  Good Morning Girls is intended for groups of women who connect with each other and offer accountability and encouragement through online social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

Ever since having a baby I have struggled with finding time to connect with God.  Additionally it has not been feasible for me to attend bible studies offered at church so this is a perfect opportunity for me to connect with God in a way that fits my current season in life.  I pray that I will take full advantage of the opportunity and NOT be a slacker!!

This week we are just reading scripture and next week we will start the book.  Scriptures for this week include some very familiar passages:

Monday:  Psalm 127:1
Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.  Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

Tuesday:  John 15:4-5 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Wednesday:  Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Thursday:  2 Timothy 1:5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

Friday:  Proverbs 6:20-22
My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.  Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck.  When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.

More crafting!

I just realized that this is our 100th post on the blog!  (Just a random fact to throw out there)

So, here are the Teacher Appreciation week gifts I made for Olivia's daycare teachers.  These are cupcakes in a jar.  I got the recipes and idea at Skip to my Lou's blog.

And here is my beloved Silhouette!  Mark got this for me for our anniversary which was this past Friday.  You will be seeing alot more of this baby here as soon as I can figure out how to use it!

And, here is a little upcycling for Olivia.  I shortened the sleeves of the shirt for summer and used the material to make ruffles for the butt of the pants.  These are okay.  I can do better!

What's been going on with the Woodhouses?

It's been quite some time since I've posted anything but that is not because I have not had anything to say!  On the contrary I've been too busy to upload photos, too busy to post, too busy to organize my thoughts!  But, I have some time today so I'll be trying to catch up a little.

Olivia turned 10 months on April 22 - she's already a little ham!

We celebrated Easter!  The pink bunny was a gift from Olivia's grandmother.

We've been getting fresh local produce from The Produce Box

I've still been learning to sew

Olivia and Buddy are becoming really good friends
And Olivia has started crawling
Mark has been taking a photography class over the past two months and I'd love to share some of his photos but I'd hate to steal his thunder!
